Do rim protectors fit steel wheels or hubcaps?
Does AlloyGator fit a steel wheel?
No. AlloyGator's French size page says the ring mounts on aluminum wheels only, not on steel wheels. The same page says it is designed for alloy wheels from 12 to 24 inches only.
Is a hubcap the same as a rim protector?
No. AlloyGator's French FAQ says a hubcap is a plastic cover fitted over a steel wheel. A protection ring sits on the edge of an alloy wheel, and the wheel stays visible.
Does Rimblades make a band for steel wheels?
Rimblades' Rimfinity page says that band fits alloy or steel wheels from 15 to 18 inches, and that it was designed with steel wheels in mind. They say a trained tire fitter should install it. Fitting is not included.
That page is about Rimfinity, not the stick-on Rimblades strip. The listings here don't use the words steel wheel or hubcap. Match the title on Amazon, and read alloy wheel or a rim protector if you're sorting the metal wheel from the guard.
