Will a rim protector stop curb rash?

Curb rash is the scrape on the outer lip of a wheel. A rim protector is a strip or ring that sits on that lip. Listings often call the piece a curb-rash guard. That is the name on the product. It is not a result this shop measured.

Where it sits

The lip is the part a curb meets, so that is where these pieces go. In this shop they are adhesive strips, clip-in rings, or pro-fit inserts. A guard on the edge is a different part from a cover over the whole wheel face, and a different job from refinishing metal that is already scraped.

It is not a promise

A protector on the lip is not a promise that the wheel stays unmarked. This shop has not measured how much scrape one of these stops. A curb can still mark the wheel, the guard, or both.
